About Us

We became an Incorporated Association on October 24, 2011. At the Public Meeting seven people volunteered to be part of the Steering Committee to get the club established.

2012 being the Year of the Water Dragon in Chinese Astrology, we have adopted the colours black, gold and sapphire in his honour.
We also believe his philosophy will guide our progress:
‘He favors optimum growth and expansion, and is able to set aside his ego for the greater good…. he is able to accept defeat or rejection without bitterness. He knows how to act wisely and what is essential for his progress.’

Two of our main objects are to
    • promote and advance paddling as a fun and healthy activity for the whole community and juniors in particular
    • promote cross-cultural understanding in the local area through the sport of Dragon Boat Racing

Our Inaugural Annual General Meeting was held on September 15, 2012, and our first Board of Directors was elected. Our Constitution (see the Documents page of this website) provides for seven elected Directors and up to two appointed external Directors.

Board members' names and contact details are published for club members on the Club Management page (go Home, Documents, Club Management). This page is password protected for club members only.

    Non-members can contact us via
